Is it already our 3rd Annual Tybee Island Fishing Tournament??!! Tomorrow makes the third event and hopefully the weather cooperates...we have over $2,000 in fishing gear to give away to the best team and individual performances...there is no entry fee and you can fish from boat, pier, beach, docks, or whatever. Click on '08 Tournament for details. We'll post pictures tomorrow of the champs. Most people will certainly be fishing for speckled trout, as they are numerous both in the creeks and along the beaches. Reds have been making a good showing, and flounder have showed up in big numbers. Bottom fishermen will continue to find pompano, whiting, and black drum, and reports of some nice sheepshead are coming in from pier and jetty fishermen. Also, cobia and Spanish mackerel have been showing up, and smaller king mackerel, too. Tomorrow morning we will open at 5 am for the torunament!!
New store hours for May are posted...we will continue to be open 7 am until 5 pm Saturdays and Sundays. Weekdays we will be open 8 am until 5 pm. We will continue to close on Wednesdays for the first three weeks of May, and we will go back to being open 7 days per week starting May 22nd through Labor Day weekend in September.
